This cool video shows how easy it is to build an RSR motor. Just kidding. This is from Mittelmotor.de. If you haven't seen this it is worth watching.

Does anybody else here have a problem with Glueber's engine build?

Who is Glueber and what are the issues? For education purposes of course.

Things I noticed that I would do different:
He did not use master link chains on a few of the motors in the video
He did not assemble the heads to the cam towers prior to installing them on the motor
He did not assemble the crankshaft prior to installing it in the motor (you cannot properly check/set connecting rod side clearance or bearing tension without assembling the crankshaft on the bench)
He clearanced (ground a hole) in the fan shroud around the intake manifold stud for who knows what reason (this allows cooling air to escape instead of it being ducted over the cylinders/heads)
Those are off the top of my head from the portions of the video I skimmed through (I couldn't watch the whole thing).
Not saying the work isn't good; just saying I'd do it differently.

My objections are the massive amount of glue that Was used. O rings should be lubed not glued. Rods look like Carrello, they should be pre assembled on the crank and bolt stretch measured. I don't think they know how anirobic glue works, I'll bet there is a lot of set up glue holding the case halves apart. I don't care much about the rest of the engine, if the foundation is that poorly done.
I find it easier to install the piston into the cylinder on the bench then doing it the way they do it. To much fumbling with the ring compressor. But each there own.

Wow , some of these self promotion videos are kind of ironic , in this one they are basically documenting doing an engine build like amateurs . Did they really install the intermediate shaft cover before the cam sprockets ? Everything in line ? Where are the tools to hold the chain and connecting rods before putting the case halves together ?

I don't know anything about how to build a 911 motor and I thought to myself while watching that there apeared to be a lot of sealant he was using. Does Mittel Motor not have a good reputation? The place of business and all the engines in the video looked impressive. It continues to amaze me how much is involved w building the motors. Just figuring out how to keep them from leaking oil is a challeng let alone all the other tricks.
