    911MRP - an interesting question.

Did the originals use a steel frame - or an aluminum frame?

At $10,000 it could be worthwhile to create some new originals.

Hey - we do that with cars. "All 15 of the original 10 cars are here for this event."

Frank has created his own nightmare topic here.

As prices increase you're going to see a lot more counterfeit cars and parts. There was a company here in Florida that was making "original" RS ducktails. They were using 911S aluminum frames and repo fiberglass. They were really really nice.

A friend of mine once speculated about how many Bugattis can you make from one Bugatti? There is an entire industry dedicated to creating these cars. I won't even get into how many counterfeit Ferrari GTOs are out there.

The basic rule is to never counterfeit anything cheap. No one will ever make a reproduction of my 5th grade art work. They may, and have, created a lot of Renoirs. As Porsche prices escalate we'll see a few more "authentic" RSRs. We already have several questionable 917s.

We might start with ducktails that sell for $10,000.

The racing ducks and first 500 had a very thin layup weave over aluminum.

Here is my factory duck bought around 1982. Different fibre than early ones. Steel frame.

OK, this has to be the most expensive Porsche Phoenix fan belt I've seen. And for B car at that.

'. . . Original Porsche 911 Phoenix Belt. 9.5 x 825 Size, Date Code is June 1961. It is in New Old Stock condition with minor fading on the print. The belt is crack free, which I am pretty impressed with, and shows the quality of old Porsche items . . .'

    '911'? Wow. Special

    And '30 day returns,' huh? . . .

    . . . K/so --- what happens if it breaks?
