    911 Racing Hood....

    I have a left-over original 911 hood and thought I would paint it in the livery of a famous racing 911 and then hang it on my garage wall.....

    ....lots to choose from, Brumos, Toad Hall, Larrouse ST, Martini Targa Florio etc etc.....

    After a few ideas for inspiration please, photos and a reason why would also be nice .....what do you think?......

    Cheers,

    Strahle

    Darren;

    I always liked the lid on the Strahle car when it comes to ST livery; maybe worth considering.

    Reason: at the top of the scale for intimidation factor when it filled one's rear view mirror.

    ....I like that, would certainly keep at least one eye off the racing line!

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Darren,

    As you might expect...I would consider one of the most famous hood decorations in 72...the very successful Kremer 2.5L ST driven by John Fitzpatrick. Flunder's 72 Stahle ST is about to be eaten up by this very noticeable green/yellow/red marvel, and is leading the Strahle in one here. My version is included here, and I have an engine lid hanging in my shop, even though the car is now in Austin, TX.

    Very cool indeed! ...

    .....Gib, Chuck, thanks for input

    ...plenty of choice in this shot......

    ....what about some of the less well known race teams?

    Got to be a lot of great reference photos out there?
