Thread: 911S Resurrection Not Restoration

Area marked in red: Area to be trimmed
Zone marked in blue: Zone to remove rust, evaluate and if it can be left

Or would you precede by cutting the seats directly and buying them new ones? I keep trying to keep the line of originality but I do not want to leave a latent tumor in the back

Looking at the photo, I do not remember having removed any anchor from the center of the chairs. Do you know if the rear harnesses are caught in the area? Or I missed photographing that part of the car when I dismantled it or those holes were already there when I removed the chairs, I'll have to check the videos.
In any case I have been commenting with my father and I have seen in the restoration of Cornpanzer a photo that I liked a lot. It is an idea to do later and I was wondering if in the future you can adapt two instead of one / I guess it will be a matter of taste /.

Leaving behind the history of other forums I proceed to document a role that I have enough affection. It is the base that made me believe that I could have an S / T or a pedigree car. And I still think about it. I publish this to dissipate doubts about the car and about all this history and I wonder. To what extent does Porsche certify a factory car that is not that model?

I do not know if you ever see what I think are two layers of yellow ?. The background base is a rather diffuse yellow. Complete ignorance about paintings, bi-layer etc ... although I understand that this has nothing to do with bi-layer. regards

Today I have been very briefly with the pilot's door. I found in the piece this 2 and the mark. I can not remember any of these two symbols on the other piece in the passenger door. I'll have to check it out. Anyone know what these numbers were for? regards
I understand that they will serve for the identification of the piece and the exact placement.

This photo was not here. My father told me that the rearview mirror was not the original of the car and the tires either. These are changed by the fuchs of a porsche I buy, the same from which I sack the engine! I have to ask him about the direction the tires took, since he tells me that they were not fuchs.
    regards

Hello, yesterday I passed by the dealership here to talk about the car and the conditions of the classic card.
I was talking to the long and lying gentleman and with my companion who came to learn a little about this subject. After 30 minutes he asked me for the registration and he realized that the car already knew him from a long time ago. His neighbor had it white. Little more did that man tell me. I wonder if the flares were of fiber to which I replied that no. In my opinion he said it with a bit of satire to see how far I've got the theme of the car. Also I named the theme of itv, a study of engineers and certain things that I keep.
That gentleman I think he knew certain things about the car that I do not know. I commented that it was probably a preparation of the time and named me a team among others that I had not heard (I apologize for my ignorance in all these issues but I'm starting in the world "porsche" specific) the name was Techart. I have searched but I have not found anything, nor do I think I do. But I leave this data to remember me later. Also I commented a curious data of the record which I had already allusion. I commented that if it would not be a car before 1972 that would go through manufactures again. This he told me after observing in the record dating from 1966. I think it is a typography error but the gentleman apart from naming that subject several times made me come back to doubt. As soon as I got home, I dismissed this again. Since I'm almost sure it might have been a mistake.
I asked for registration of the car since my father always told me that, all arrangements were made at Matias Molina 366. According to him, in his database there was nothing with respect to the car since the change of matias molina to his place changed many things I made special mention to the loss of data.
Around the conditions of the classic card.
The gentleman assured me that he could take the pieces in case I wanted to do it myself. I leave a folder with the documentation in which it is clearly read, that to enjoy the discounts etc ... the car has to be in situ in the workshop and the work has to do porsche specialists. Seeing how clueless this gentleman was I left the number of his partner, who is responsible for the response. I have to talk to this man since they would have to come to see the jobs that have to be done to the car since I would like to value prices. I do not know if it would be more profitable to buy the 4-5 pieces to the house porsche without classic card or if on the contrary I would be profitable to do the work there.

Surely I have things left in the inkwell, I will already relate as I remember

I think you are totally correct. Plus theres a guy by the name of John who restores 911 in the canary islands.

I think our friend lacks the funds, wich is a shame, since its a nice S to be restored properly

For now let's see what the dealer says porsche! On which island is that John? There are 7 islands around here but I will look for information about the name that you name to see that appears. Regarding the restoration, I prefer to do it with my hands to throw thousands of euros to have a car more, nice, but one more ....
    Salds!

Today Carlos has been here, head of the spare parts department of the Porsche house here in Tenerife.
At first they were a bit reluctant to come to see the car back home but in the end. They have accepted and yesterday this gentleman was here. As we commented, we are going to go in parts and in principle we have asked to quote the rear tray (above the engine), a new bonnet apart from the one we already have. Also show the front that was pending a deeper assessment since it had the deposit and did not allow the correct visualization.
He has photographed and was going to discuss the work with the workshop manager to see what could be done. It turns out that this gentleman tells me a very good gentleman for the engine here on the island ... The name reminded me of someone but I did not realize it. Upon coming this gentleman, who went to look for the porsche house and find my father they started talking about the car. This mechanic Carlos told me was the same with which my father had gone many years back to Las Palmas to buy the car, if I remember correctly Gorrin was his name.
To thank this gentleman for his interest in my project, the help he has given me and the information I have about the cars on this island that he did not know ... 3 RS I think at the time I misunderstood him. Of the 3 that came to Spain. Here's one. I think I saw it the other day, a rather elegant whiteand an S of 69. I am totally unaware of the existence of these cars on the island and I have been quite delighted to know. One thing that made a bad taste to me was when Carlos told me that one of these cars was 5 years getting ready at the house .... For me, those are very great times, however Carlos accepted the proposal of work that We gave him, that of the great things and that they escape me from the hands for them and the "small" details or things that he wants to try to arrange for me. I understand that this will make a great differentiation of time and the child will not be much away from home.
I still think Euros are needed.
Stay with Mr. Carlos in a few days I would spend what the head of the workshop told him and in such case, the work budget. Add that I have to locate "Gorrin" to see how much it would cost to lower the engine.
    regards

Today I continued to collect my father's papers, including this booklet from a parts supplier. I have compiled a letter in German from Porsche that I have yet to translate and some magazines that talk about the 911 S / T one of them from 1996. I also have the original traffic with their respective owners and the history of the car which only shows A change of ownership from partnership to private. I have the date of entry of the vehicle that was registered in traffic before the matriculation of August 1, 1973. Little by little the history is letting go.

This afternoon I have been dismantling the back tray after seeing the rust that I think was produced by the paper ball I found in the drain of the piece.
As a curiosity, the tray support is extended due to the pressure of the pneumatic arm.

I have also removed 5 spark plugs for some tests that we want to perform. Tomorrow I will try the 6 which today resisted me. Any trick to loosen them? I thought about giving heat ....
    The tray will be sandblaster

Hello, what do you think about "the paradox of the boat of Theseus"?
I invented this and with a little tool I managed to remove the missing spark plug. I have recorded the pistons moving inside the engine which my father has liked. Say it's full of charcoal. I'll upload a video this afternoon.
