Thread: 911 '65 Slate Grey - Interior trim opinion - Help

  1. #21
Haul thanks a lot for your effort!
The last picture of the slate with elephant black interior has something interesting.
You see left of the car a 911 that looks like a 65/66 also in slate grey if I look well.
It also seems that this car have a dark interior?
    Maybe these are your pictures?
Would be great to see the car next to the one of which you posted pictures.
If these are not your pictures where do you got these from? Maybe a look at the internet at a certain event vam bring me to that car.

    michael,

the elephant hide....there is a pair for sale over here at the forum. price is adequate and they are really a catch. ok they are not correct for a 65, but hey...

the slate gray left of the 68 911L is indeed a 65, but a 912 with a redone interiour, leather black, but redone

    Haul,

    Thanks again!
Your help is so helpfull for me! Great so I can image several option for slate grey with original black interior.
Do you also have exterior pictures of this 65 car to get a overview of slate/back from the exterior?
The 'flechtnarbe' is not my thing, but he taste of each person is different!
Also a thing I ask myself. You see a lot of people that make a leather interior when restoring a 65.
But there was only leatherette with in the middle perforated leatherette and not real leather?

That 300SL style is really strange on a 65. Perhaps the guy had to listen to his wife...

    michael,
you sweat a lot on leatherette seats...they are hell in summer and you sit in your own juice...
with leather it s so la la, but at least it smells like a new car
and, you only do the seats once...
the best option for summer driving is pepita, or else fabric.
in the 914 I do have the original cordura, and well, nice in summer with roof open...
