Does any one know why the vin number on my kardex is written twice with one of the numbers having PoA noted next to it?
what does PoA stand for ?
thanks

I dont know why but all of the US delivered cars that I have seen a kardex for seem to have that PoA or PoAC and the vin number repeated (typed) above where the stamped vin number is on the Kardex. I have not seen anything similar for kardexes for cars delivered initially to non USA markets such as UK, Germany Italy etc

...same with my Kardex (911 US-delivery):
Stefan
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx911 US-delivery 130PS MJ68
My 63 cab Kardex has the same thing.
COA wasn't invented yet....
Maybe duplicated for the non German speaking. (and too lazy or stubborn to look up the German)
So they (we) wouldn't have to guess what fahrgest meant when looking for the chassis number.
We used the cardex (copy) for warranty and PoA probably wanted to make sure the repairs were charged to the correct chassis number.
I know that is what I used it for anyway...a quick glance to confirm the chassis number.
I don't know about the rest of the world....maybe they could figure it out without the duplication?

Thanks Guys for all your help but still confusing.
seems 68er has a US car with PoAC and I have an aussie delivered with PoAC on it.
Mudi has a german car with PoA and LA Brooks has a Portland car with PoA on it ???
Must have nothing to do with market car is made for

Bobs car, from my reading of the Kardex, looks like it was in the USA in 1958 (Hoffman the dealer for the warranty claim in 1958: assuming that is Max Hoffman in NYC) also his POA is in a different place than all of the others I have seen. Given that it is a warranty document maybe it is not only where the car is delivered to the USA but when it is IN the USA and any warranty work is done on the car and recorded on the KARDEX.. was your car in the USA in the warranty period? I have plenty of examples of kardexes without the POA / PoAC on them
have a look at the examples on this thread http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ht=your+kardex
