Actually, that's not good at any track.. Or road for that matter, especially with a new to you 70 911... Sorry, just a little fun.

If he's in Philly then I would go for Lime Rock. The only scary part at Lime Rock is going under the bridge. You're blind going over the crest of the hill. I always worried about landing on some small-bore car Then again I was driving Corvettes back in the day.

Pocono is just flat out boring. It also has the banking which can be intimidating for a few laps. I used to get loose in NASCAR Turn 1. That was interesting. On the plus side there is nothing quite like exiting Turn 3 and going down the front straight. I swear you could land a 747 on that front straight.

I can't believe people are advocating that he race the car on the street. First, he will never go fast enough. Secondly, it's just stupid. Stop it.

    Pocono/....

    always illicits so many responses...lol

its an open track...tonsa runoff.........different configs...some really let u open a car up......safe....not pretty.....like say a Lime Rock or even the Glen.

    Lime Rock can bite u hard if u don't respect it......but its a great track....not a top speed track...but a fast track

Depends on how much runoff you have. Lime Rock has some spots where work can really pile up on you if you go off, e.g. Bottom Bend, and the barriers are fairly close.
The safest places are airport circuits, if the drop-off is not too much, flat and plenty of pavement to slow you down if you spin.
Another good place to learn the limits are slalom courses, usually on big parking lots.
I've never driven VIR, but it looks like it has good runoff areas. Moroso, (is it still around?) was pretty safe. Its in Florida though.

    Chuckwalla in 95 degree heat.

    Just kidding...

I'd choose a local track with more corners than not. Learning car control is more impoertant than just going fast.

Let's hope it's only 95. See you a week from Friday down there.

    Ciao

Do a season of autocrosses first, learn the dynamics of handling first in a safe environment,,,,,,,THEN do D.E.'s at a track.

We were t 94 today, with like 110% humidity, giving a heat index to high to calculate.
