    Parts Klassic CDI refurb

I'm thinking about having my old CDI box refurbished through PartsKlassic with their upgraded internals. Does anybody run one of these units and care to share their experience?

    Cheers

I was considering one of these but my mechanic told me to stick with OEM Porsche FWIW...

The original Bosch CDI will fail. Not if but when. They make a lot of heat and heat eventually gets them all.

I've got one of Kurt's CDI's on my 80SC and have another for my '74 when I get around to it. He also was kind enough (and willing) to build a custom CDI that was fitted into my Delta Mark 10 that is documented dealer installed in my '67 911 in 1968. Delta and Sydmur Fireball ignitions were all you could get before the factory got around to making the CDI available. Porsche tech bulletins from the era list these two and the factory picked the Delta as a stocking item. (There's a Delta thread here if you're interested in ignition history.)

I have a Parts Klassic one in my 70 T and am very happy with it. Turn around was quick as well.
