    Value of a 72 911T

Hi, Can anyone shed some light on the value of a 72 911T that is partially disassembled, solid floors, little or not rust on the car. The engine and transmission cannot be tested so that is a big unknown. I checked the Hagerty valuation and see that the price for a condition 4 is around 29K. Does anyone know what is a fair price based on what I have described?

    Thanks,

    Buddan

Not enough details... how about lots of pictures?
$29k seems high for what you mentioned so far.

IMO those things alone make it worth that number

However, here is what else you need to provide before you can get a more meaningful answer:
    original color
    coupe, sunroof coupe or targa
    matching numbers motor trans
    body modified or not
    original interior
    pictures

Post pictures - as many as possible - here to get a better idea of value.

Agreed - I'm happy to buy it for $29K - or more - if it is as described and meets the criteria you added (would have to be a coupe for me).

Here is a link to the photos on Photobucket:

Owner is asking 45K for the car.

    original color - Yes
coupe, sunroof coupe or targa - Coupe
matching numbers motor trans - Matching numbers
body modified or not - Not modified
    original interior - not a 100% original

Thank you for the help all. Just need to get some advice on what the car is worth.

how do you know it's all there?

if the motor & trans. are intact then add the value of a non-running motor, trans. - rebuild + unit body
    = sum

Cars in boxes carry a significant risk premium.

I think Frank Beck's formula of taking the price of a perfect car, then subtracting everything you need to get there is much more realistic.

Really? You think that is "more realistic" than going by what you know actually IS there?

    Why?
