This ranks up (or down) there with when Peter Egan "retired" from R&T. Sad, but inevitable. Actually the sad part is many of the writers and photographers in the car mags these days were born long after I got my driver's license. So the perspectives definitely changes from reminisces of MGs and 911s to cars of the '80s and '90s vintage.

Best of luck to Pete. He helped make a non-writer person such as myself sound like I might actually be one. I really enjoyed working with him. Hope he doesn't stray too far.

But the new editor of R & T is a real car guy. Younger but knows cars--esp. Porsches. His father raced early 356 based cars in he 50s..

As everyone else has said, I was very impressed with the revamp of Panorama that he oversaw. It went from near the bottom right to the top of my list of car magazines. I was sad to hear the news but I wish him the best. Anyone know if he's staying in the magazine biz?

Yes, I'm curious to know if he's moved to another magazine, so I can order a subscription immediately...even if it turns out to be about knitting lace doilies.

I hope he goes to R&T and /or C&D. Those magazines need a LOT of work.

I like Road and Track. Car and Driver is still funny but not as streamlined as Road and Track.

The new R&T took a little getting used to, but I'm enjoying it on my iPad Pro. If Pete Stout were to move there, it would be a major coup and a nice addition to a magazine that is in ascension again.
