That changed in 1969 as the white parts are one year only (1968) but elephant hide was only a shot run in the first production of 68 cars. Confusing? Chris
    Exactly my thoughts too.

My '68 SWT (912) came with black plastic screw bases for the visors. Nothing in white, relative to my black/black sun visors.

68 COUPE sun visors(the first ones to swing 90 degrees from the windshield all came with white plastic bases on the outer pivoting hinge. All replacement pivots came in black plastic and many 68 Coupes have black plastic bases because the original white ones broke (they are very fragile) and were replaced with black ones 'cause all that is you could get.

Had a inquiry recently on these and his 68 L has black visor pivots although now selling without pivot as it seems to be seized as I can’t turn it by hand although have it soaking with penetrating fluid. Now $250 plus shipping for both visors.

Both my post and Jim’s post hit at the same time and did not see his so whatever Jim said trumps what I know.

    Seems a perfectly logical explanation.
    Thanks

For sale at $250 plus shipping for the pair. They do not come with the pivot as it seems to be seized.
