    1966 Porsche 911 Sold for $ 49,500 at Auction's America

    Auctions America http://www.auctionsamerica.com/event...?SaleCode=CA16 sold a 1966 Porsche 911 coupe for $ 49,500 this weekend. It was a no-reserve car.

It still had it's Solex carburetors, air cleaner, linkages, tandem fuel pump, etc. Those alone could be worth a good portion of that price. The pictures aren't detailed but it looks like a decent car at worst.

The write-up says it has COA, books and tools. The write-up also says it has power windows--not the best listing.

Someone's probably regretting selling the car "No Reserve."

"Engine was was rebuilt by Porsche specialist in 2015". Ouch... They lost some serious money on that one.

If you go through the sales listing it appears there was a lot of money at this auction. That makes me wonder why the '68 went so low. What did the buyer's at the auction know that we don't know here?

A dodgy '68 might be justifiable at that price, but this is a '66 solex car. Even if the numbers didn't match, it's probably worth more than that. Some might argue 2x that price.

I assume the seller was the high bidder.

No one would take a hit like that.

I would certainly make sure I was the last bidder if it were mine.

Bubbling at cowl seams; cowl seals painted over, wrong engine lid... it was a nasty, nasty car.

That car looks atrocious. Someone paid fair market.

K must be sharing his resin with you Marco.

Market on a rebuilt complete Solex motor is close to 50 large.
