This distinctive example is thought to have been the car actually used by King Juan Carlos I of Spain during the 1970s. The car indeed remained registered in Spain until 2002 with Jose Ignacio Aguilar of Madrid, when it was then purchased by Dr Thomas Scholtz of Frankfurt and exported to Germany.
Scholtz set about restoring the car and commissioned an extensive two-year restoration, stripping it back to the body-shell and meticulously rebuilding it - photographically recording the whole process for the history file. An F.I.A Historic Technical Passport was issued in September 2004 and the car was prepared for use on a number of historic events, including the Monte Carlo Historic, Eifel Classic, Rallye Konigstein and Hessenrallye.
Ongoing maintenance and preparation between 2006 2009 was carried by Porsche Classic in Stuttgart and the history-file records a full engine rebuild by the factory on a replacement engine case, which can be identified by the factory stamped AT designation. In 2013, after various historic events, the car was fully re-painted by Classic911 GmbH of Frankfurt and put back into original Touring road specification.
The car is offered with UK registration and F.I.A. HTP plus handbook and Carrera RS Supplement.
An opportunity to acquire a stunning 2.7 RS Touring model, finished in one of the great iconic 1970s Porsche colours and which has been beautifully maintained and restored over recent years . . .'
