    Looking for some imput

All this info all this knowledge !!!
What is one to do ! I have my 1966 (912)completely empty of all parts, it is just a shell it is in my garage . I have been slowly using a heat gun to remove the under coating. It actually goes pretty quick.
I am using Airplane stripper and a grinder to take off the body paint on the rear quarters. The rest of the parts are hanging on my walls. I will get to them when I get this done.

I have checked on all types of Metal stripping companies blasting dipping ,heating and e-coating.
I thought I had made up my mind at least 3different times.

I have an appointment with a great metal guy in NC in Late Oct-early Nov. He will have a spot for me.
He has been doing it for many a year and he has a good media blast guy that he uses on a regular basis.
I think around $1000-1200 for the strip job

    What are your views?

your best bet if you want 'bare' is blasting it. That way everything is visible. $1k is very reasonable. I paid 1800 for my 356. The result was disappointing. Car was a mess.

    good luck with the project!

Be careful, as the early cars used asbestos in the body deadener.

    I had mine chemically stripped.
It only takes off the paint and body deadener, and leaves nice detail, like the factory date stamp for the steel on the floorpan.
