    Useful gasoline shelflife

I have a 40 gallon steel drum of 101 octane racing fuel that has been stored unopened and tightly sealed with steel plug for half a dozen years. Is there a shelf life on non-ethanol fuel?
    Thanks - Hank

EZ: Have it sampled and tested.

I'm going to get in trouble on this one. I always do. Discussing gasoline here is similar to discussing religion and politics.

The best answer is the shelf life varies. Petroleum engineers tell me that the E10 you buy on the street has a 45 day shelf life if exposed to the air with a vented tank. It's ninety days in a sealed container.

VP Vintage Fuels have a shelf life of 2 years.

I would call the refiner about your fuel.

Thanks for the comments. It is VP racing fuel. Guess I'll give up martinis and sip it off in 4 oz quantities!
