How to identify Recaro 1328 genuine seats ?

    Hi

I have just purchased the following seats for my BMW 2002 turbo replica and following some research I think they could be genuine 1328's. I would appreciate any assistance from this group to help identify for sure.

Thanks Uai, Did Recaro have any identification marks ?, these seats look as new and unused, even the slider is unmarked but has some patina on the mild steel spring. I have seen some big $$ being asked for these, any idea of value if essentially NOS ?, as Im happy to sell them and use reproduction seats for my replica.

Hi I'm not sure whether they're NOS unless you've cleaned the grease from the sliders - all seats I've had had yellowish grease in the Sliders.
If you unscrew the sliders there should be a 1/2" spot of red or white/yellowish residue in the contact area to the GRP shell.
Earlier Sliders had an inkstamp with mfg date (that is removed when cleaning) Rivets look correct. Can't see the corduroy in the pics.
To tell if they're nos or just good condition I can't from that pics.
To value: I'd say if they were earlier they would be more valuable as these are post 73.
But taking into consideration that many want a harness and the 13.28.00 without the holes is not too good with a harness as the boulsters suffer....
With value it's different from europe to the US: In Europe without lowers I think you might get 6k€-6.5k€ for the pair if sombody is looking for exactly that seat. With lowers add 1k€.
If you'd put them for auction on german ebay I guess you'd end up with 4-4.5k€
But prices for seats depend on somebody really looking for this exact model - and this would not be the Porsche crowd as they were using the lollipop Seat by that time.
Be prepared to pay 3-5k€ for a pair of 2002 turbo seats - they're really hard to get.
    Cheers

    Uli

    Hi Uli

Thanks for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I checked the sliders and can see smudged date stamps, possibly 1977 ?. There is also a "blob" on the GRP shell towards the front.
