SWB trunk..did they spray black after assembling???

i always was wondering if the luggage compartment was sprayed black after they already installed some components.
or some components were sprayed black after installing in the already black trunk..
i have seen this very often on very honest SWB cars and i`m about think that it was done in the factory.

most of my SWB steering linkage covers and webasto carbs have overspray

    any thoughts about this theory...

Ok, my experience is only based on one car but a very original one. When i took my car apart i found many components had signs of black paint on them. It had more indication of brush compared to spray paint. The orange foam tank filler piece and the wiring loom are examples.

exactly...more brushed than sprayed...and can also confirm loom and foam to have paint on it.
