I really enjoyed the piece Kris. It brought back many memories of similar trips to buy an old Porsche. I am proud to say that I have only towed one car home. And I've owned many Porsches. The plane ticket, the money, manual and a small bag of tools and I was off. Over time I think I became addicted to the anxiety of not knowing if I would make it home. But I always did. Got to love old Porsches. Nice article.

Good read. Thanks for posting.
"The amount of money I was spending freaked me out." Oh, how familiar that is to me. Same thought when I purchased my car, and I trust a few others here.

Well done Kris. I like your style and sense of humor. And you can keep the $800.00 spark plug tool

Nice Kris. Article wasn't too long; perfect toilet read.
"I wondered what he would spend the money on. I hoped it wasn’t something awful like divorce, taxes, or debt."
Based on your description I would have been more concerned that he was buying more guns and ammo and planning something much more sinister than a divorce or paying taxes. This could explain why you were "shaking" as you shifted into gear?
As a general rule I don't trust people who ride trains.
My favorite line.
“Every 911 is a $30,000 car. Pay now, or pay later.”
We may have to move the number up but it's so true.

Kris, I can imagine an evening sitting on my porch in the country and hearing that 911 then seeing its headlights in a distance as it screams by. Nice! Thank you.

Kris, Congratulations on the article, I enjoy your writing and video....You have a pleasant but brutal way of describing your adventures....Kinda like a Porsche is.....
I wasn't too sure about the red deck lid club but I am warming up to the idea...
