WTB: Porsche 911 Right Rear Quarter Window

Right side/passenger side rear quarter window needed for my '74 Carrera in Silver/Aluminum finish. The rear quarter window on the car now has a black frame so it obviously looks out of place with the rest of the frames being the aluminum finish. Quarter window/frame must be in very good condition and any help/leads are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

    Hi Reid.
I have this one. It's a 10 footer. Has some scratches and would need re-anodized to be really nice. No latch. $30 if it is useful

    Hey Dave,
That looks shinier than mine (more like chrome), but maybe it's just the picture? Mine is more of a flat-ish silver. If it is in fact the more muted silver anodizing I am willing to try it out and see if it will work. Just let me know. Thanks!

Reid, it is the factory anodized alum as used in early 70s. Not sure if 74 would be different?

The later anodizing is definitely duller than the anodizing on my '71 so I think the '74 is different than your frame. Thanks for the offer though.

Bump for the new year and a pic showing the non-matching rear quarter window.

    Reid,

It is possible that your car originally had black anodized frames everywhere and the anodizing has faded to where nothing matches anymore. Pull one the door skins off and look at finish that has not been exposed to sun. Very common issue with the black anodized frames.

    +1.................................

Here is a picture of a quarter window that I dug out of my pile. It has been painted black over the faded anodized finish. Remove the rest of the paint and you have a perfect match. By the way, opening quarter windows with black trim are very rare. It does have a small scrape that can be seen in the picture.

    Regards

PS: I easily removed the paint with some spray-on paint remover. I could do the whole thing but I wanted to show the difference.
