So it's "rebuilt"'but you have no invoice, list of parts, rebuilder's name, or warranty?

    Pig in a poke.

What you have is unknown hardware for sale and unless you get lucky with engine number bingo, value is probably not what you're hoping.

But in spite of that, I wish you the best of luck.

    I would value the engine at 15k +/- 5k.
A big warning sign is whoever built the engine used the wrong color shroud. With no provenance buyers will wonder whether the builder knew what they were doing.
So right now it's basically a role of the dice.

So can anyone confirm with the numbers on the engine that it is a 2L?
Also how would I find the right chassis number that it belongs to

The best that can be confirmed is that it was originally built at the factory as a 2.0L. With these old engines, and having been rebuilt, there is no telling what is inside without a tear-down.
You can look for casting numbers on the heads, and cylinders to provide clues if they were changed. You could pull a spark plug and see if you can determine the stroke of the crank.

Chris Fryer "9er" of Adelaide may need this motor. From my memory he was looking for very close to this number if not this number for his 68 S.

I was looking for and found 4081428.

As suggested without IDS and not knowing what is inside makes it hard to value.
