Thread: What have you found in your car ....

  1. #11
Found the ignition key when we pulled the dash apart ....evidently early in the cars life, someone put an ignition key on the dash and it fell down into the defrost vent....This was a "good get" as I did not have a key for the car

A cool gas meter from Ernie's Auto Center, a health spa membership card, valet parking card, old VW fuses, about 10 gas receipts per year from '73 to '85 when the car was put on jack-stands until we found it... and not pictured a hand drawn map to a kids sport event, which would be the equivalent of GPS at the time...

At 21, first Porsche was European '65 912.

Ashtray full of roaches. Clips under passenger seat. But I didn't inhale.

Nice license plate find under the passenger seat; cigarettes and gum under the hood. Both rather 'hard'...

I have bought and cut up 1000s of Porsches. I'm guessing that I have found an average of $5.00 per car in spare change. A couple of things stand out in my memory, though. First, a pair of Pentax binoculars found in a 87 Carrera Cab that I use all the time still. But the all timer was a box of slides containing a couple dozen slides. I have found 100s of pictures, but nothing like the contents in that box! They were all of different women and one of my favorites is the picture posted. I have done my best to make it Forum Suitable. I hope the monitors don't mind. If so, feel free to remove it. I hope nobody recognizes her. She would be somebody's grandmother by now.

    Regards

    Jim

I found ammunition in a car I brought in from the USA plus a whole lot of Idaho sand!!!! One of the bullets was lodged under the flange of the gas tank AND pointing towards it - AND live!!! Good thing he didn't have a collision eh?

That's a shame Chuck edited out the picture! I'm sure that by today's standard it would be pretty tame...

Does anyone have a screen shot of Jim's original post? Looks like it lasted almost an hour.

OK, I'll use a bit more tape and re-post it. I agree, pretty tame by today's standards. Maybe we should have a slide show at the next Coffee and Doughnutfest?

    Ciao
