What engine is this? Engine number says 6300745 but was sold to me as 3L SC

    Hi Guys,

I bought this engine 10 years ago off a breaker who told me it was from an '82 SC Targa and as I had bought many parts off this guy I've never checked the number until now (painted silver to protect it while in storage).

When I look at the number and check it against the decoder it say it's a 'S' Engine from 1970. However I no longer believe in Santa Claus and want to check it out more.

Does anyone know whether there are engine casing stamps or other casing details which corroborate whether it is a 1970 or an 1982 engine?

    kind regards James

PS: I'll clean off the silver paint and take a closer shot of the number.

First question: What's a breaker? Did you mean wanker?

Where can I purchase this silver storage paint?

That motor is a 1980 ROW 911SC. It should have a internal number of 930/09

PS: When checking things like this, it much better to read it out of a book than from some BS Internet site. JMHO

You need both of the numbers to determine what you have. There are three numbers on the 1969 and earlier engines.
