Late 2019 update. Current price on the Aase repro is $85. A couple of months ago they had them on sale for $65 so I grabbed one. I figured if the current batch is OK it would be fine for my driver-level refresh, since the car came to me with (oh, the horror!) a later red-bar crest on the hood.

As noted previously, the clear coat is a bit too glossy. On mine the orange "enamel" is nice and even colored. Still has all the other detail issues as noted here previously. So not going to be mistaken as original by those in the know, but still pretty good overall.

I will probably try to dull it a bit with 0000 steel wool as Mike did. Once that is done, it will be fine for my uses.

Better than the Porsche Classic badge but still sticks out like a sore thumb. Unreal that nobody can get these right.

this is the one I am using. (I have original orange bars and repro badges)
I saw one on a car, at the Porsche 50th, in the factory area, at Laguna Seca, CA....I was like, what is that?
So, I kept looking all over for one.
I am pretty sure they are from Dauer built cars with a Porsche engine...and one of them won outright at Le Mans 24...

I have to wonder if the wrong details on the aftermarket repros might not be intentional. After all, it's not like original parts to compare to no longer exist. Maybe they are afraid that if they make them too 'correct' they'll get attention from Porsche's attack lawyers.

Of course, that doesn't explain why Porsche Classic's version is no better than it is.

I doubt it. Plenty of excellent repro parts available from those who pay attention to the details. Hell, I have to label Eric's parts so I don't mix them up with NOS.

But not many of those excellent repros are of Porsche's own logo.

Do we have a side-by-side comparison between the latest Aase and latest Porsche orange crest? (or is it the same thing? Albeit with huge price difference; If not, does the Porsche price resembles the quality difference?)

Is the AASE badge in fact the STODDARD badge? I know that comparisons have been done with the Porsche Classic badge, but I am curious if there is actually more than one repro badge available. Sierra Madre and Pelican both carry the Stoddard badge. Maybe AASE does too. Anyone know for a fact?

Old thread here. Can anyone answer the question above? Also, has anyone bought the Aase hood badge recently? If so, how is the quality? thanks
