High rim to low rim rear seats?

Anyone some vin numbers between which these changed?
Try to see if my 303381 have low or high rim rear seats.
Suppose high rim because on some cars higher then 303800 you see this high leather part above the rear seatpart.

According to Brett Jonson's The 911 & 912 Porsche, A Restorer's Guide to Authenticity page 63, 1965 and 1966 911s had the high-rim rear seats. So, 303381 (late CY 1965/early MY 1966) should have the high-rim rear seats.

    912s were different.

    Jim,

For example Car 303121 sold by Samuel Laurence (dealer) shows the rear seats as low rim.
Don't know it this is correct or bad restoration in the old days.
The same for the peanut headrests, don't know if 356 or peanuts would be correct.

    I don't know of a better source than Brett Jonson's The 911 & 912 Porsche, A Restorer's Guide to Authenticity.

The carpeting in your picture of 303121 looks like squareweave [bouclé] to me (to the extent I can tell from the medium-resolution photo) which implies a less than totally accurate interior. Note this Porsche color brochure from http://www.porsche.com/international...icaldocuments/:

Brett Johnson did much of his research in Parts Catalogs and he apparently had access to all the pages. In the 911/912 era Porsche issued update pages and even the hardcopy catalogs one can get today have only the latest updates. The seats page in my hardcopy catalog is VIII 3/69 so it reflects seats later than any estimated change to headrests and back seat rims.

Brett Johnson had access to the previous pages so I'd trust The 911 & 912 Porsche, A Restorer's Guide to Authenticity unless I were certain of the provenance of a specific car.

I do have some evidence for the headrests. Brett Johnson puts the change from 356-style headrests to "peanut" headrests some time in 1968. The September 1965 Accessories Price List shows this for headrests:

So, in September 1966 (not long at all before your car was built), Porsche was still planning to provide 356 part numbers and separate seat back fittings for headrests.
