Door and ignition cylinder / key service

    Hello All,

The 1970T that resides in my garage required two different keys, one for the ignition and another for the driver's door lock. There were no keys that fit either the glove box or passenger door. At best the locks/keys worked intermittently and required the necessary jiggle or more, often leaving me wondering if I walking home would be the next option.
The exterior of all the cylinders had 45 years of scratches and/or were partially damaged with missing parts.
They looked rough and were basically non-functional.

I sent all the components to Dan Roman, (AKA Rocketdan).

Now ALL of the cylinders are keyed alike, function perfectly and look like new (small miracle) and I am the proud owner of two genuine Porsche keys that actually work in every cylinder. Walking home due to faulty worn keys is off the menu (perhaps something else)

I experienced an extremely professional service and fantastic feedback as to all the options for whatever level of restoration I required. Great communication too.

It was a first class experience.
Highly recommended for those of us in need of Porsche oriented repairs by an individual knowledgeable in such a specialized niche.
    He helped me.

    Hello Jim,
I ran across this thread while doing a forum search. Thank you so much for recognizing our work. It was a pleasure collaborating on your car's lock project. Here are more after pictures of the work we did on this lock set. The work included new OEM Keys, rebuilt internals, rekey to the customer's preferred key code, and remediation of other lock related issues to rebuild and restore his locks. We also do work on other vintage Porsche and VW locks.
    Regards,
    Dan & Alicia
