    Fan Housing Alternator Hub Extension

Will a newer, > 1984, Fan Housing Hub Extension 911.106.055.01 work on an earlier car like a '72? The newer part has metal fins and a vendor is telling me it will work if I rotate the alternator 180 degrees. The original part for my car is a 911.106.033.00 and has plastic fins.

If anyone happens to have the correct earlier Fan Extension for sale I would be interested.

    Thanks.

    The Bishop should have it.

    Or Tom.

I would imagine either one will respond eventually.

That would be great if someone had the correct one. In the meantime I am going to order the newer part and see if it will work for my application. I will post back what modifications I had to make to install it in an earlier car. Thanks.
