Interesting 914 found hidden away with a few rare 911 goodies

    Hi

I had a bit of a barn find a few weeks back. Speaking to a friend he suggested I talk to a retiring racer about a car that has been sitting for some time. Locked away in the under ground garage were a few cars of interest. Turns out one of the cars was very clean and properly built 914. Cage is outstanding and it has all the right go fast parts. Car last ran in 2009, engine was rebuilt the year prior.

Digging through the car I noticed the engine was a 69 S with Weber 40 IDS carbs!! The wheels are RS Fuchs up front and RSR 15x9 Fuchs in the rear, all mated to 944 Turbo brakes. Log book shows it ran Daytona, Lime Rock Mosport etc. Rennsport Daytona and so on. We plan to race this car next season but I'm curious as to if I should swap the 69S engine.

    Cheers
