Thread: Banjo Horn correct installation brackets

    Banjo Horn correct installation brackets

As I have made brackets for the long horns for the F series cars I get asked a lot for brackets for Banjo horns.

I have never had a full set to copy though.

I recently purchased a car which has the horns and brackets intact from new so I will remove and make some

Who might be interested so i can get an idea of how many to produce?

Figuring they should be pretty cheap as not much too them

Can you post some pics so I can understand what you are offering? I think I will want a set but need to compare it to what I currently have on my 6/73 S.

Can you take a couple of pics in situ before you take it all apart?

I have finally got the car home and here is the banjo horn in situ half out and the sets of brackets

Brackets consist of 4 flat steel plates as pictured in gloss black originally and one much thicker plate with a captive nut that goes to the front bumper mount similar to the 73 trumpet

The small horn facing forward has 2 small plates joined to the larger thicker plate as you can see in the pic, the larger horn faces down and has 2 small plates only

Pretty simple to make so I will get on it ASAP

A set will consist of 4 small plates and one larger bracket

I have often wondered why the small horn has always had wear marks on the shaft and now I see how the factory coiled the wiring around the horn it all makes sense
that friction over time does the damage

I can also properly test my box of horns now too.

I will advise again when I have some sets available

    Michael,

Thanks for finding this thread. It reminded me that I too am missing these parts. Here are some older diagrams which call out the parts Clyde has displayed above.

    Clyde,

    PM sent.

    Thanks all!
