    For What It's Worth

I found this while searching. Not Scalextric, but a few more rock stars doing slot cars in the 60s.
Stephen Stills with car, standing over Neil Young in sweater. Richie Furay on left, Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin on right.

As a kid I raced slot cars at commercial hobby tracks. I still have my box of wing cars, Cox Chapparal and controller. Fifteen years ago I started collecting the 1/32nd scale slot cars that were being produced featuring Porsche race cars (Fly, Scalextric). Since "LeMans" and McQueen are close to my heart, I purchased every Porsche slot car that is represented in the 1970 film/race, including the Ferraris. I also found an original race program. I then expanded from there into earlier and later Porsche scale models. To make it all make sense... , I built a 1/32nd Scalextric track of Spa in my basement crawl space. Yeah, I'm nuts...

    Spa

    A911S:

A replica of Spa you say. Very interesting.

Well, please don't become concerned. It all seems perfectly normal.

Now, just relax on the sofa, take a deep breath and tell us all about it..

But seriously, that is one great collection of Porsches by Fly Cars - beautiful and fast!

Spa is one of the classic track designs for Scalextric - and perhaps the most elaborate. Wonderful.
