    There is a story that Claude Ballot Lena was admonished by the marshalls at LM in 1968 for lighting up while on the Mulsanne. Guess that means a 68 TR did have a cigarette lighter!

    Claude was a real character, and one of the nicest guys around. When I was a struggling neophyte, the bartender in the French Auto race drivers club introduced us. He and his wife would invite me to lunch with them there many times.
    Lots of great advice for free.

    Were the RSR delivered with a collapsible spare tire, and a compressor?
    If yes, then they need a cig lighter to inflate it.

    928cs point it out. compressor --> lighter socket, but no lighter cause no ashtray

    well great feed back here , so i will go one further .....did the RSR come from the factory with rear demister on the rear window which would mean a demist switch on the dash

    rear window defrost RSR

    Doubt it, lexan rear window? Here a picture of the RSR in the Porsche museum.

    rear window should have retainer tabs to keep it from popping out, somebody left them off after repaint I guess.
