    To calculate the cylinder head volume , the deck height with corresponding volume and piston dome volume are also needed , not just the bore , stroke and compression ratio .

    I was sloppy with the term :cylinder head volume." Bore, stroke, and CR actually yield the volume at TDC. Granted, with a domed piston that's a lot less than cylinder head volume.

    Pardon my ignorance, but would there any way to use an intermediate shaft from a 2.0 sandcast case?

    In a 2.0 sandcast case, yes, that's what you have to use...
