    Recent acquistion USA 72T/E

I recently acquired a lovely tangerine 72 T/E that had been a resident of Boise Idaho since day 1 until making it's way to Australia in early 2015

The car had 3 USA owners all known to one another and had little use from 1990 to 2015 when only 4000 miles were completed.

Must have been stored well though as the mostly original paint has survived very well indeed.

It is highly original in most areas of the car, just a bit dirty underneath and I like my cars to be clean top and bottom so I sent it to the dry ice guys for a clean up and it came up fabulous saving me countless hours of work and I doubt I could get it to this level anyway.

I am a real fan of the dry ice blasting process not cheap but very effective and sympathetic to the car

Looks great Clyde. Were all the hangers etc, just left in place during the process? Outside and interior pics?

Yep all left in place, probably should have removed the front bar then I would not have had to clean these up

Also didn't go overboard as the dry ice can remove the factory cosmoline too but I wanted it retained as much as possible.

Cost $2k US but well worth the spend

Here are some pics of more cleaning....done by hand

The car still has it's original door rubbers too

Hi Ray, no would need a long lead from Aus to use them

I agree it is the way to go for cleaning for sure

Just a local Porsche guy who saw a need in the market and paid the bucks for the machine.

    Time capsule. Nice find Clyde.

Sure wish someone was making door seals like that.

Paying 2000 dollars for cleaning dry ice is too purist for me. I understand that this process does not damage the vehicle at all and clean in places that are not normally reached but .... this you do because you will not dismount? The interiors look perfect !!

    Clyde -
I had the underside of a car dry ice blasted here in the States - it is a wonderful process!
