    Cibié Race Harness...

A friend of mine recently acquired a set of old Cibié race harnesses from a guy that used to work on old Porsche race cars many years ago; he believes they originally came from a factory 911 (possibly safari) race car.

I never knew they existed, would anyone know more?.....

    I appreciate any information.

    Cheers,

After a quick search, I would say that these were sold by Cibié, but were manufactured by EFA.

EFA means Société d'Études et Fabrications Aéronautiques (Company of Aeronautics studies and manufacturings).
They have made a lot of harnesses and helmets for the French army and or the civilian market (parachutes, gliders, ...)

S.G.D.G. means breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement (Patented without Government's Warranty).

It "seems" that the same kind of harness was used into racing Alpine A110.

    Darren,

looking at them again, does it have a tail strap.? I doubt the tail strap would be separate from the shoulder straps....?

....I think the first photo is a little misleading and the side strap is lying on the top of the rear tail. I believe they're the same as my Repa harnesses.

    Cheers,
