    Tracing back John Steen's car

I am tracing back the history of my tangerine 1968 Karmann Coupe (US-car), reimported to Germany in 2004.

According to Kardex, the first owner was John Steen, owner of Steen's Inc. TACO Mini Bikes in Los Angeles back in the 60s (http://www.steenstacominibikes.com/Index_Home.html). He got the car in February 1968.

Apparently John Steen was a passionate racing driver mainly on two wheels and rode alongside Steve McQueen in the International Six Day Trials in Eastern Germany in 1964! In the picture John is the guy right next to Steve. I'd love to find out more about John and his racing career and find as many pictures, information, stories as possible.

Does anybody remember John and maybe even his brand new tangerine toy in 1968?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thx,
    Peter
