    911sc project

    Hi All,
    Hoping some of you find this new project at our workshop interesting.
    Im more of a originality kind of guy but if the customer is writing the checks who am I to complain.
    1982 991 SC with Mazda 13B rotary with a large turbo.

    I agree, I'd prefer to see a Porsche motor in it, but to each his own I guess. Thought I'd "shed a little light" on the project...

    That's cool, how much weight does that save off the back end?

    From what I understand the Mazda rotary is relatively light until it's filled with coolant. And they make a lot of heat...so prolly lots-oh-coolant. Put a big turbo on there and I'm not sure it's any lighter than a six! I do, however, think the rotary would be really interesting in a 914. There is no worry of high torque killing the 901 and the short gearing combined with a high-revving, bridge-ported normally aspirated 13B could be lot's of fun...:-)
