I've been in talks with Jon The Metal Surgeon about having him make a buck to make the rear contoured fiberglass panel on my car in aluminum. I'm looking to see if anyone else would have interest.

We have 3 people interested so far. I would need 5 or 6 to get the unit costs down.

So, if you get 6 people, what will be a ballpark figure for cost?

Does the panel fit Short wheel based cars and will it looked like a normal one? Any idea of the cost?

Jon is working up costs. Soon as I get that information I'll pass on the cost. These should work on both SWB and LWB cars. There will probably be some fitting involved if there has been body work done to the rear of your car.

We should have an idea of costs soon. I think we're going to make a center panel that attaches to the aluminum (or your steel) licence panels you can buy from the aftermarket. As a lot of these cars have been tweeked over time, you can fit the flat panel to your car first then fasten our panel to it. You can rivit or weld them together. The two panels fastened together should be light and strong. This should also keep the complexity and cost down.
I bought my car with the fiberglass panel from Craig Smith. His son Clint owns Rebel S Racing. They might have taken a mold of my panel before I bought the car.
