    Color 6861 Mazaratt

    Does anybody have ever head of the color code 6861 Mazaratt?
    Its on a MY 69 BY 68 911 Targa S of a friend of mine.
    Porsche at Essen also did not know the color.
    Maybe anybody have some pictures of this color?

    Thanks!

    First, 6861 is a code that designates a custom paint choice, such as paint to sample provided. It is an umbrella code that covers many custom colors.
    I have never heard of Mazaratt as a color, and Google is no help. I would like some more details such as the VIN, a photo of the paint code badge, and any documentation that mentions Mazaratt.
    Is there any evidence of the color on the car, such as under the paint badge, or any clue as to the original shade?

    6861 is a general code for special order paint. Typically on the Kardex there is a word describing the color, which I assume on your friend's car it's Mazaratt.

    It wouldn't surprise me if it's a color match to a Maserati paint color, but hard to say.

    Do you have any more info on the car? Any of the original color left on the car?

    Seeing the Kardex would be helpful

    Bryce is right --- you need to get the Kardex

    Better yet? . . . find a paint chip to show!

    Reference . . .

    VIN = 119310509
    Eng# = 6391793
    Trans# = 7197256

    Other interesting stuff = . . .

    .M239 = leather seats
    .M354 = fixed (solid?) rear window, heated and tinted
    .M433 = power antenna (right side fender install?)
    .M464 = Becker Europa

    Be curious if the car still has the power antenna. Also the radio --- even just the face-plate. Any pics?

    And thanks for sharing --- cool stuff!

    M337 is fog lights.

    Interesting that they used M codes for options on this printout and not the normal 4 digit typical through MY69 cars.

    Still unclear what Mazaratt means.

    BTW, that is a late production S Targa, one of the last. Not sure what you mean by "BY 68".

    Below is a Kardex for a car that has some of the same options as your friend's car. You can see where the word Mazaratt would fit, up next to 6861

    Two option codes, again. And option code 9369 Sond. Lak, again . . .

    . . . = 'clear coat'?

    'AGAVENGR' = agave green?

    Re above
    9369 Sond. Lak > SonderLack > Sonderlackierung > Special paint.
    And yes, Agavengr > Agavengrün.

    Btw the dealer paper in post 5 using 3-digit numbers has faults as those codes were not in use in 1969, as member beh911 correctly stated.
    Imo whoever wrote that paper had no access to 1969 codes and used later ones, instead.
    Here are the correct codes and descriptions for a 1969 Targa S.

    9355 Elektrisch beheizte, feste Heckscheibe
    9329 Sitze in Leder (rechts und links)
    9337 / 9338 Halogen-Nebelscheinwerfer unter Stosstange (weiss 9337) (gelb 9338)
    9433 Elektrische Antenne (nur rechts)
    9462 Becker Europa

    By chance I also have the (ultra rare) pricelist from Belgian Dealer "D'Ieteren Freres S.A.", where the car was sold.
    It shows the 911S Targa as their highest priced model, at 395.000 Belgian Francs.

    Mazaratt is possible as a Sonderlack, no question. I had a 356 that was painted Saffran yellow, one of one. But unless you find some spec of it on the body it's next to impossible to find the color code as it isnt noted anywhere.

    This is a 911 my dad ordered new. One of one. You asked (and paid) and Porsche would (and still will) paint it any color you want.
