    Really?
Sometimes, ratings aren't what they seem to be.
I"m thinking he just hit the wrong key.

Just me or does the large pic in Jim's yelp listing look like a steampunk dog carcass?

BTW, we have an awesome guy here in the Midwest that I am honored to call a personal friend. He takes VERY GOOD care of us and we are extremely thankful that he loves these cars as much as we do. And yes, I would hug him if he wouldn't think that was odd behavior from me.
Scott I think that jab was directed at me. You are right about your friend local to us only problem is he only has two hands!

    Mike,

That comment was an equal opportunity insult.

Offending as many people as possible is always my goal.

Now that I think about it, it may be more like 5%?
Butt load of Chicago people here.

Come on Frank! You should recognize that thing. It is a front hood latch from a 56 "project car" 356A Coupe. Actually, I think it looks like a baby calf.

    Ciao

I've owned Porsche's most of my adult life. Having a good working relationship with the right shop/mechanic is part of the experience at least for me. I've never had a really bad experience with any shop I've done business with, which is rather remarkable given the amount of $$ I've "invested" over the years. FWIW I've done business with Frank and would do so again w/o hesitation - he runs a very tight ship. I'm not sure hugging him is in my future but I'm an open minded guy, you never know.

Happy to report never screwed with my 911 projects.
OK maybe one body shop but it was not a Porsche shop.
Here in San Diego we have 3 or more excellent Porsche shops, Jae Lee at Mirage my favorite.

Still I am blessed to have my good friend and Porsche expert Vic Ofner in Prescott.
Vic has restored 2 Porsches for us in the last 4 years.
He only works for a couple customers and does incredible work.
Well trained, honest and does every thing as you would expect from a Porsche factory trained mechanic.
If only I could get him to work on my non Porsches too.

Although I could brag forever about Vic at this time he is not accepting new customers.

Vic with his customer's 962 at Rennsport.
Han's finished 4th in it at Daytona.

Never met Vic even though he's only 90 minutes away; perhaps we'll cross paths one day.

    Speaking of mechanics...
Looking for a shop in the Boston area. Have a customer north of there with a G body car who's in a bit of a pickle.

    Owning a shop is difficult.

You can never please 100% of the people 100% of the time.

We do our best and try to offer our clients value for their money.

Honesty, integrity, quality, and value. Pretty simple formula.

As for taking the good with the bad ... here's a fun Yelp link for a local Porsche shop (not mine).

That sounds like something a RACIST would say...

I started out in my early 20s doing body work and later had my own shop. I quickly learned to over price the squirrels.

I don't mind paying for honest work. I know chit can happen. My truck mechanic had to pull the trans out of my 3/4 ton 4x4 twice as I was doing some modifications. My mistake and I owned up to it. We get along great.

As far as my old 911, I can do most of it. I sure want a newer 911 Turbo S, but servicing it would be a consideration for sure! Especially the computer part!!!
