Arrow Been MIA, but I finally caught my tail...

Or the tail I have been chasing. After sorting ignition problems then starter problems... I finally caught my tail by back tracking what I DID!!!

Now I need to replace the rear calipers me thinks. After a short ride with the infrared gun LH rear was 141F and RH was 341.

So... Eric did such a nice job on my front calipers, I am thinking of buying the new alloy calipers he offers for the rear, and putting the old ones on the shelf.... For later..

I mean you loose unsprung weight and weight off the rear. Can anyone give me an reason not to?

Picture for proof it still goes!

All brake hoses are new. I did that chore when I put a repaired transaxle/clutch, etc. What I also need is a set of J6x16s. My tires look great to be 25 yrs old, but...

Thanks Chuck.. My tach is working again.. Now for the speedo!

Glad you surfaced Paul but I don't think anyone wants to see your Speedo.

I could be wrong; Rick likes photos of everything.

I see my welcome back committee is back in force!!!

So anyone have a speed calculator? I awoke my relic from its slumber only to fine the speedo is inop. I drove it 60 or so miles today. For the most part it ran like a top. I do have some throttle linkage issues though...

Anyway, how fast is 5K in top gear? 1972 S... I am thinking 125+?

Now I remember why I love 911s like I do!!!

    Thanks David.

205/55/16, so what is that? 24.5" or so? What is the final drive ratio for a stock 915? With a search I come up with 4.43 and a 5th gear of 0.76? So that would be around a buck 10? Good enough!!! Temp ran around 180 max and the oil pressure 60 or so. 20 at an idle. The more I run it, the better it seems to run. No chains or other rattling. I might need to run the valves. It drives like a dream! The only thing is I think I have a bad ground on my turn signal LH front. The indicator will blink once bright and then blink both right and left indicators dim. Have to love the Germans!!!

As a side note, because of "sometimers" I forgot to install the inside boot for the shifter shaft. And out of ignorance I didn't install a new one on the outside.... So it was pumping a bunch of hot, sometimes smelly air through the shifter tunnel at speed... Oh well. Lesson learned.

I just use Waze on my iPhone to tell me my speed. Any of those GPS apps should be able to work.
