Hood crest 1975 - orange or red?

Does anybody know which hood crest has been used on 1975 cars? I have seen a few 911, first paint (!!), 1975, with the old version of the hood crest (orange bars).
Although two books state the oppposite: the new version (red bars) has been used since 1975.

    What is your experience/opinion?

I have also seen a few '75's with the orange badge...
    We know the '74's had'm...
My guess is that low number '75's would get'm until they ran out of the old inventory...

I'd agree with that possibility but I'd suggest it would probably be VERY early '75 cars if it happened. I have two original 1975 cars that left the factory in September and both have the newer transitional red badge.

Orange is correct for '75...at least all original cars I've seen.

I can promise you that's not always true. Probably not even usually true.
