    Correct muffler band bolts?

I´ve finally managed to find a NOS Leistriz muffler to my 911 E from 1970. I´ve painted a pair of new muffler bands in the same dull grey as the muffler. But I´m not sure if the muffler band bolts (10 x 50 Hex socket/Allen head internal) are “correct” ? I´ve seen some pictures with Heaxagon head bolts. Anyone knows the specification and finish of the correct muffler band bolts?

Both my 70 and 73 parts books show 10x45 DIN 912, which are Allen bolts. Gordon

The 700 mile 1970 911 S photos show hex head bolts for the straps .

I've seen hex bolts as well, wasn't sure if they were original or not, but they had smaller flats on the hex, like 15mm instead of the normal 17mm head for a 10mm bolt.

Alright guys I've got a question for you; when did Porsche start using metal - with rubber inserts - fasteners for the engine lid script and hood badge? The 700 mile 1970 911 S has the hard rubber push on type fasteners securing the hood badge.

It's actually rubber with a metal insert and there were two types.......SWB cars used a harder rubber piece which was conical in shape....LWB cars used a softer rubber that was like a sandwich disk with the metal sandwiched and a small nipple in the center....there were also tiny holes at 90 degrees on the disk around the nipple. The SWB version was slightly smaller diameter than the LWB piece. There was a thread on this with photos of the two varieties. As to when....My '67S had the earlier but my '69 and '70 Ts had the later...'68? Dunno.
