    Not sure early style. Should be chrome nut and base with black dome I believe.

    It should be noted that this antenna is a "fit all" replacement antenna made "back in the day". Not a "Porsche specific" part.

    Strange that Hirschmann notes that it should only mount on the right fender. LWB's had the automatic antenna at the right side, left this type.

    The similar to shown universal vintage installation instructions from hirschman that I have from around that era show that side. Not what is seen usually from factory typically to Jim's point but maybe a practical decision made by Porsche -- particularly handy for LHD. Less so manual RHD.

    Agree electric hirschmann is usually right hand side... even on RHD.

    My 73's electric Hirschmann is mounted on the right side. Had concerns when fitting external oil cooler lines but all fit beautifully when done.
