Here is the 1973 race history from John Starkey's book that shows 26 races for Eugen Kiemele in 1973, with 9 wins and a total of 13 podiums. Kiemele raced a variety of events including European championship GT, DRM, DARM and hillclimbs. Pretty impressive results for a gentleman driver, and as said earlier, possibly the most races (26), most wins (9) and most podiums (13) for a 1973 2.8 RSR in its inaugural year!

Great to see technology help verify the originality of these cars. Fantastic car!

Are the 9 x 11 x 15 Fuchs original? They even appear to have the original valve stems w/ oversized caps installed and original-style wheel weights?

I know the restoration was done between 1990 to 1995 with the intent to have the car be as original as possible. The Restoration shop had tremendous connections to original Porsche parts, and certainly they were more accessible back then. So, I believe that the Fuchs are all original NOS, including valve stems, caps and weights. However, given that the car had quite a racing history, including possibly three times at LeMans, I do not believe that these Fuchs are original to this car.

With regard to verifying the originality and authenticity of this car, the goal was to use not only technology, but also expertise. That is why we selected Kobus Cantraine in Belgium, as he is is widely known and respected. In addition, we also hired Jürgen Barth, 1977 LeMans Winner and also ex-Head of the Porsche Customer Racing Department, to additionally inspect the car. Here is a picture of Jürgen when he came to inspect the 9113600894 last year.

Cool! You told me about this at the Hagerty 3.0 RSR event, glad to see it made its journey over... just in time for Monterey?

The original goal was to bring the car to Monterey. However, planning the reunion with its original owner, Eugen Kiemele, was the priority. This happened March 31, but by then, the applications had to have been already submitted for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. So, unfortunately, the 0894 will not make it to Monterey this year. However, I do plan to take it to the Morgan Adams Concours d'Elegance in Denver on August 26th at Centennial airport.
