    Sounds unbelievable but we had a year in Austria where more People died in the snow then on the road...

    It sounds like he got nearly immediate medical aid and was airlifted within 15 minutes - that is incredible work by the safety personnel at the resort! He was skiing 'out-of-bounds' (off the groomed trails) and although that is within the rules and even promoted at some resorts, it is extremely dangerous. There is little margin when things go wrong - trees, rock faces, unmarked drop-offs, unstable snow, etc. Hoping for the best.
