Had that happen to me at a SHELL just outside of the Auto Train station in Lorton, VA. As soon as my car was off the train in Sanford FL, I could tell I got bad gas. Sputtering, missing, running rough. Took it to a Porsche guy in Jacksonville and he changed the plugs, which by then were all fouled. Ran better, but not completely until I ran through that gas. Sucks, Mike...glad you made it home.

50/50 and RSTarga, I run a fuel pressure gauge on my race car, with a fuel cell, so no screens in the tank. Got a batch of race gas with water in it (my bad) and during a session noticed loss of power and missing. I looked at my fuel pressure, showed "0". Normal pressure is 12-14 psi in cool AM and as low as 8 psi in hot afternoons. Pressure is measured in the loop from the fuel filter console to the injection pump. Went to my pit, discover contaminated gas, drained tank, removed MFI filter, shook it out, water and gas came out, replaced filter, gassed up all good. Gordon

    Thanks Gordon
What I am having trouble squaring is the amount of time between start up and refueling to the problem. If water was the
cause, wouldn't the problem happen quickly as it would settle on the tank bottom where fuel is being drawn?

It took 10-15 minutes for me to feel the loss of power, another minute to relise I had no fuel pressure and a half hour to diagnosis the problem. In my case the water is not just sitting on the bottom, once the car is moving the water kinda goes into solution. And it wasn't a ton of water, it takes a while to saturate the paper and stop fuel flow. G.led

Well now I think it was just a very poor grade of gasoline because my car has run flawlessly all day yesterday and today, I only added 8/9 gallons to the tank at Marshall's One Stop and it didn't affect my car until about halfway through the tank ( sputtering and 2 stall outs at speed ) I added some Shell V-Power to top off the tank at the next oasis and have not had a problem since. Wisconsin Dept. of Agriculture (Trade & Consumer Protection) is testing the tanks at Marshall's One Stop this week and will report back to me. Don't you just love it when the Government actually works for you!!

So I gather that you will not be signing up for the "Marshall's One Stop Loyalty Club Membership".
Kidding aside I am going to try potential remedies in steps: check plugs; filter change; fresh fuel, then Techron to see what works. Odd that I have problems with one MFI car and nothing with the other.

Would anyone know how the fuel solenoid actuated valve on the pump may effect engine performance? is it a go, no go operation?

If the gas in your State has ethanol in it and it goes unused for three months in a partially full tank it will contain water. Ethanol attracts water. I'm surprised the race gas had water, didn't think ethanol was ever used in it. Here in CA everyone is having problems with carbureted engines that don't get enough regular use such as in generators, dirt bikes and classic cars
