    Back in the 70's those would have been real flames.

    Can't tell you how many 914's we fixed back in the day because of fuel injection system fires.

    Ya'know I was just think'n that back in the '60's and '70's (with the amount of Type 2's we had in L.A.) you'd see a VW bus/van on fire on the side of the freeway/HYW every other week.... ..... REALLY, I'm not KIDDING !!!!!!

    Dirty-oily engine/cheapo plastic fuel filter/old plug wires.............. WHOOSH

    Man, I don't miss those stinky messes........
