Thankfully it appears to be a documentary, and not a scripted film with actors.

He was a sensation in the early 70s, setting a record of nine F1 poles in 73 (equaled by Lauda in 74), but for various reasons his career stalled.
He was about to join McLaren just as they went into decline, but was tragically killed at the 78 Italian Grand Prix.

Peterson died due to complications from his crash at the Italian Grand Prix the following morning, and not at the race itself.
His injuries were serious, but they were not thought to be life-threatening.

Wonderful! Look forward to watch this; Peterson was a wonderful driver who shouldn't have died... here's the trailer link:

I was at the premiere on Monday, E. Fittipaldi was present, what a vivid guy!

My favorite scene was some old fotage from Monaco's GP where they had fitted a camera and microphone on a F1 car and a driver J Stewart? (cant remember who) went through his driving hence gears/throttle. Must have been quite avant garde back in the early 70s, before gopros....

I haven't seen the footage you're referring to, but it might be from this occasion...
