    '69E Radio install parts needed

I am helping a friend install the correct Blaupunkt back in his car. He is missing a few parts and from what I can tell [at least] the following is needed:

    Radio front mount
    two face plate spacers
two mounting nuts- escutcheon type with two holes/slots
    Face plate

He does have the knobs and some additional basket weave vinyl.

If you have any of the needed parts please PM.

    Thanks,

Maybe consider this type of setup, with the chrome trim that pushed through and has a stock Blaupunkt faceplate. This would have been more of a setup from a dealer, not factory. These parts pictured will fit your application.

    Thanks,
I don't believe the radio you pictured is correct a '69, as the blue dot dial glass wasn't seen until MY 1970. Also, the radio shown is a euro model with limited FM band. The radio pictured in Mike's post is correct, with the old style dial glass, convex buttons, and US FM band. The bezel shown in his picture is for 68 and earlier, though.

This is a correct for 1969 US Blaupunkt Frankfurt. This came in my 69 E. It does have a blue dot on the glass, although mine has faded to a very light blue. The 69 is a one year only radio, and can be identified by the two white dots that appear on the horizontal white line along the number dial. These white dots contain a small triangle or arrow shape, and are located just to the right of the number 6 and 12. My pictures have been loading upside down these days, so lets hope today it doesn't, if so perhaps the moderator can flip it...Thanks Steve radio.jpg

Do you happen to know the date code on the side of your radio?

I just finished the install on it, so I would prefer not to remove it, however as I recall it was 10/68. The car is a 5/69 completion date. A radio specialist confirmed it as a 69 US Frankfurt. If the first picture is from the original posters car it is a Euro model anyways as can be seen by the lack of rubber knobs on the switch gear above the radio. You will also need a rear support bracket that locks into the body and supports the rear of the radio. The faceplate should have a frosted bar just above the selector buttons.

I was able to follow up on the date of the radio my friend has; It is a "B" date code so '70-'71. I think he was just pleased to find the same model radio his car was delivered with. I will look to see if he has any more details which would dictate the installation type.

Thanks to all who have replied,

Further searching revealed the original Blaupunkt Bremen's warranty card which was stamped at the factory (option Nr. 9320).
