What year would these seats be from? Can anyone guesstimate? I am looking for seats for a 1971 Car. Would these seats pass for the 1968 to 1971 sport seats?
LOOKING FOR:
ENGINE Nos: 4080191, 911669
GEARBOX Nos: 9282004, 131410, 115639
1967 Porsche 911 P.A.R.T. Trans Am Rally Kit #308107
1968 Porsche 911S Sebring GT class winner #11800224
1971 Porsche 911S Targa Conda Green
1973 Porsche 2.8 RSR ex-Targa Florio, 2xLeMans #9113600894
yes
Regarding whether they are original recaro I assume they are, but the gelcoat looks painted from the pics - that is always a hint to look deeper into this before saying they are original or they aren't.
To me these have lost their value when painted. You cannot replicate the surface of old recaro gelcoat with paint.
As for pricing see http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...l=1#post943356
I dug them out of the trailer and here are additional pics. As others have stated that the fabric centers have been replaced, but it appears to me that the vinyl could be original still, just based on the rivets, staples, etc. Particularly as these were in this exact condition in 1998 when they went into storage:
This is the hard shell bucket, showing clear rivets up below the headrest, the staples, the mounting holes, and the hook that needs reset into place:
This is the hinged seat, the spiderweb on the gelcoat is on the backrest. There are still visible brush marks on the resin.
UAI - based on these new pictures, does the gel coat look original or painted? Do the seats look like original Recaro seats, or are they Replica Recaro seats (as many replicas were made). You also said RS homologation have different seats.
different weave different sliders 3 holes for fixture etc. Do these have the correct holes for Original Recaro seats? And what year do you think they are? I am looking for seats for a 1971 911 E. would these be correct for this year? Thanks!

As aftermarket seats - as they look like - they were still manufactured by Recaro itself.
But anybody could order them and mount in their car.
But once those seats were installed as OEM, those seats would not have the Recaro badge stiches on the back rest, as discussed.
I also assume they were first OEM for 1973 Porsche cars, ie any aftermarket by Recaro would be sold by 1974 and later. I dont think they were offered for any Porsche before 1973, even they might fit in.

hi, could you please make a pic from underside with a ruler (cm) at the screwholes? distances look little strange to me . also attachment of thumbscrews.
difficult to decide if repros or not when only have pics... but in moment i am 50:50
best
I tend to replica for the thumbscrew and original for the other. But I am not sure.
