    Hi again,
Because it is you, I skipped the last part of the Champion League`s match to snap some pics ;-)
Will post the kardex in my project thread when we come to that chapter, but emailing it to you now so you can have a look.

Looking forward to your conclusions, but this is what I see:
    - Raised area does not look like hammered by hand, (but no schutz???)
    - The lid does look like it has been taken off to be freshened up. Difficult to see, but at least some of the screws (replacement or not) have trace of black paint.

If the pictures are not good enough, I will take more tomorrow in better light.

    hi Radmund.
appreciate this ....must have been a boring soccer game...

the lid is serial production and has been off the car(note also incorrect screws) ..it does not reveal much to me since it has been repainted but.the only hint that it could have come with the car is the traces of schutz on the inside ...

does your car have those two prestole cages/or the two squarish holes where they fit in.
the hole where the wiring harness enters the smugglers box could also give some information...does it look enlarged.

thanks for the kardex. i wonder about the Abnahme-Besch. date...

what you have in 301744 is, what i call "the nylon cap type"
unit #2015 and 2292 added to the data base
pictures of the #2292 unit would be of great interest cause this is a serial# that would help to narrows down the gap for the transition from nylon to steel cap .

the one in 304574 is most likely a red steel cap type..if you find time to take a pic of it would also be sweet.

    thanks much

    Franz:

So you will be the one who compiles all of this information into a comprehensive reference manual to expand upon the good work started by Brett Johnson and others? Would be nice!

I'll get you the serial number... I'm at work and the Kardex is at home. If its not on the Kardex, I'll get the number off the heater but that'll be a couple of weeks as the car is in the shop at the moment...
